EDUCATION IN MUSICOLOGY

Musicology studies at Ghent University form part of the degree program of Art Sciences (also called Art Studies). Ghent University enables students to study musicology within a broad scientific and cultural context, involving aspects of scientific principles, institutional developments, musical and stage practices and concrete music repertories. Education in musicology is focused on the learning of skills for people that work in the cultural and creative sector. This educational program is drawing upon advanced research at IPEM, the research center associated with the department of musicology.
